Description | Letter from David Skene, Edinburgh, to Andrew Skene (his father) in which he states that he received money from Mr Dundas and gave him a receipt; his health is a good deal better since he arrived in Edinburgh; the professors are advancing quickly through their lectures and it keeps him employed; there were more amputations in the infirmary, he describes their methods; he describes a man who died complaining of intense griping pains in his belly. When he was laid open, they found a large schirrous on his colon, 22 December 1751. |
