| Description | Letter from David Skene to John Ellis in which he begs a plate of Ellis' Balani; he sends a box of specimens along with the letter including two milleporae and a celliferous coralline, no entire baderlocks as yet; he remarks that there has been a bad clearance of sick and hurt [seamen], £47 instead of £58 and states his intention of writing to the Lords of the Admiralty; he recommends the bearer of the letter to Ellis' acquaintances and describes his natural history background and personal circumstances; asks him to let him know when Pallas' book is available, 21 April 1766. |
