Description
Letter from John Hope to David Skene in which he congratulates Skene on his election to the Philosophical Society of Edinburgh; he thanks him for comments on 'the sibbins' and asks where the name came from; he has received the specimens of cryptogamia; he has been too busy with his practice and winter course to spend much time on botany; he asks for a specimen of baderlocks and queries whether it was a distinct species or variety; he encloses a list of simples; he remarks that he can say little from his experiments on mizeroon; he asks for specimens of 'curious drugs'; he refers to Walker's popularity in London, 22 January 1766.
