| Description | Letter from David Skene to his father, Andrew Skene, in which he states that the Elix'r Vitr: Myns: may come with Mrs Challmers' baggage; Mrs Challmers' health worse and Skene describes her condition in detail stating that she has knots in her breast and a continual hard dry cough with difficulty breathing; he gives his father news of Mr and Mrs Leith; he tells him that human anatomy will finish altogether the next day and that he will be starting comparative anatomy; Dr Rutherford has got to peripneumony; he could be employed day and night in his studies he has so much to do; he has some woman patients with chlorosis with fluor albus, haemoptae and hysteric disorders who are worse when admitted to the infirmary where they have neither proper air, food or exercise; a paracentesis was recently performed on a hydropic girl; he requests money, 7 or 8 guineas; he describes the costs of drugs and can't get Elix'r Vitr: Mynsycht: until it is made, 25 Febuary 1752. |
