Title | Letter from Adams to John Hargreaves |
Date | 22 February 1981 |
Extent | 4 sheets |
Description | Does not want Mungo Park to appear in 'African Affairs' as she does not want to be seen as an eccentric Africanist, but as a writer. An American mistook Jaabe's mother for a beggar and tried to give her 25 CFA Frances. Adams has decided to seek support from OXFAM to help in a campaign to promote Soninke. Adams's translation of the sums of independence will be published soon as she has been sent an advance copy. Adams is annoyed by the fact that Hargreaves and Elrick have not been sent a copy of the Park book by Maspero. Is saddened to see that she has the same temperament as her parents when it comes to teaching Lansana. |
