John Cumming's efforts against the Roman Catholic church constituted a major focus of his career, particularly in the wake of the 'Papal Agression' of 1850.
Description
Anti-Catholic satirical poster giving a report of a mock auction of assorted Catholic liturgical vestments and accoutrements, including a 'Romish Miracle Maker, containing the whole art of making Roman Catholic Miracles'. It is also replete with anti-Semitic undertones.
