Examples of additional information in volume number 2:
trephining - includes a cutting with two diagrams, one diagram is entitled 'Cranial Sutures marked by Dotted Lines' and the other diagram is entitled 'Prof. Robert W. Reid's Measurements'. Also, a cutting of 'Anderson and Makins Cranio - Cerebral Lines' and a cutting entitled 'Ballance's Measurements. In trephining for pyaemic thrombi of lateral sinus and intracranial affections secondary to ear disease' [these cuttings are the same as in MS 3760/1/2; see also MS 3760/3/2]. 'Trephining' also includes a hand - drawn diagram of the side of a skull. The notes appear to be more detailed compared with volume number 1.

Volume contains a copy of plastic surgery methods, which is the same as [presumably] Ogston's hand - drawn diagrams in volume number 1.
In addition, volume number 2 contains a list of illustrations that accompanied Ogston's lectures [see sub - series level MS 3760/2 for explanation of the illustrations]. The illustrations list is annotated with notes explaining what was needed for the lecture, such as 'Anat Prep' [?anatomical preparation] and 'Pirries Coll' [?William Pirrie's surgical museum collection]. |
