Description | Newspaper reports in 'The Aberdeen Free Press' and 'The Aberdeen Daily Journal', 11 December 1902, of visit by the Aberdeen Branch of the Association of Teachers in the Secondary Schools in Scotland to the University's Anatomical and Anthropometrical Museums. Reid conducted a guided tour of the museums [N.B. this precedes the formal creation of the University's Anthropological museum (est. 1907)] and explained the methods of making anthropometrical observations. The visit included an exhibition of items from the Sir William MacGregor Collection and of the skeletons and skulls in the Anatomical Museum.
Also, syllabus of meetings of the Aberdeen Branch of the Association of Teachers in the Secondary Schools in Scotland, 1902 - 1903. Other meetings in the syllabus included a paper on 'Nature Study' by Professor Davidson and a paper on 'Hygiene' by Professor Matthew Hay. |
