| Description | Correspondence between Robert Lockhart, Gilbert Hamilton, Forest Fyfe and their British and American publishers, Faber and Faber Ltd (Peter du Sautoy) and J. B. Lippencott, regarding corrections and changes made to the 1965, 1969 and 1972 imprints of the textbook; the preparation of new material for future editions; the forwarding of proofs and other material; and the receipt of royalties, 1943, 1960 - 1973. The correspondence occasionally refers to the wellbeing of Hamilton, Fyfe and Lockhart, to their families, and to the activities of their respective departments. It also includes a copy of Faber's letter to Lockhart in which their agreement to produce and publish a 'Textbook of Anatomy for Massage Students' is confirmed, 1 February 1943, together with two copies of their memorandum of agreement on the matter.

Brief correspondence regarding the adoption of British or American English spellings and terminology in the textbook, beginning in 1967. The correspondence makes clear that Hamilton preferred the continued use of British English, at least in the Faber (British) edition, while Fyfe, in a letter dated 2 December 1967, would have preferred the use of American English. Lockhart, in a letter dated 5 December 1967, writes that terms should be in British English followed by American English in brackets.

Printed letter from Faber to Lockhart (copied to Hamilton and Fyfe) seeking permission for the Mexican publishers, Editorial Interamericans of Mexico City, to publish a Spanish version of the textbook, 9 May 1960. A letter of 18 April 1972 relates to the sale of the Spanish version and correspondence covering the period June - October 1972, relates to an Italian edition.

Letter from Dimitri Michaelides, Athens, to Hamilton, praising 'Anatomy of the Human Body' and seeking permission to translate it into Greek, 13 December 1971. With subsequent letters between Sautoy, Hamilton and Fyfe, regarding Michaelides' proposal.
Brief correspondence between Lockhart, Hamilton and Mr A. Small, Department of Geography, University of Dundee, regarding the Drumashie Cist, Inverness-shire, which was restored by Lockhart and Hamilton, July - August 1972. The letter contains descriptions of the finding, excavation and contents of the cist and originally enclosed 'A Pictorial History of the American Indian' by Oliver La Farge for Mrs Hamilton [who became actively involved with Indian music and song in her retirement] and mentions that the Anthropological Museum [at Marischal College] 'has some wampum belts and a good collection from the North - West area, as well as exhibits from South America'.
