Date9 November 1769
Extent1 item
DescriptionLetter to Anne Gordon from her brother Francis, Texel, Holland, about to leave for Copenhagen, concern over sealing up of their brother Alexander’s papers by the sheriff, the judgement given against him in Denmark, surprised that they discovered that Alexander had used some of his sisters’ money to meet his expenses, which Francis had hoped to conceal, as he had only borrowed it while all his own assets had been frozen, Abraham Terborch gave him an unlimited letter of credit, Alexander is too easy going, Anne is right in thinking Francis owes money in London but it’s a small sum, he would be glad to find out where she knows all this from, they are not to worry about him as he does not quarrel and enjoys good health, hoping to see them before he returns to America, 9 November 1769
