DescriptionLetter to James Gordon of Letterfourie, London, from James Gordon at Muiryfold, explaining that he had not previously written as he had expected to see him, but Dr Andrew Gordon says that might not be soon, the writer’s oldest brother John has joined the church, his second brother George has succeeded to Birkinbush at their father’s death, ‘as George died unfortunately in 1752 by a fall from his horse and left no children, John, who had not, it seems, been as friendly as I would have wished him before that time, then openly abandoned his Religion and put in for Birkinbush which he carried accordingly’, 2 March 1764
