DescriptionLetter to James Gordon from Alexander Grant of Tochineal, Cullen, regarding arrangements for the relet lands, he has had trouble over the details, Logie has accused him of being an oppressor, saying he has done all this without orders, Grant showed Logie his factory but does not believe it to be valid, asking Gordon to send him a revised one, Grant will also verify Gordon’s own rights in this, asking advice on pricing of meal, asking him to write to his sisters and Logie and tell them they have no authority over Grant, nor right to interfere in his work, more uncertainty arising from the verification of the marches, including rights to slate quarries, argument between Glastirum and a miller which has caused inconvenience for the tenants, Buckie has promised not to be hard on Gordon’s tenants and to reserve any quarrel until he can meet Gordon personally, discovery of two more large debts due by Gordon’s father, thanks for his friendship to William Grant who now wishes to move from the Royal Navy to the merchant navy, 15 February 1751
