DescriptionTwo letters to James Gordon of Letterfourie from Alexander Grant of Tochineal, Cullen, regarding the Earl of Findlater’s purchase of Ogilvie of Baldavie’s estate and the money he owes Gordon, hoping for peace, 11 August; regarding annual accounts, continuing problems with Alexander Geddes at Corriedown and his rent arrears, good price for meal at Perth, sorry that Gordon will not be coming north this season, settling business with Lord Findlater, debt owed to the family of Rannes, which looks clear but is puzzling, payment also to Gordon’s father’s old shepherd who is now old and unfit for work, recommending Robert Wilson at Logie’s insistence, asking for Gordon’s help in getting Grant’s son Tam a position with Captain Robert Douglas, soon to be governor of Demerara, as that is where Tam still is, 22 August 1762
