DescriptionTwo letters to James Gordon of Letterfourie from Alexander Grant of Tochineal, Cullen, regarding tale of a great commission spun by his son Tam, hoping others have not been taken in by him, the circumstances of the tenants are improving, bad drought in the north of Scotland, ongoing process of trying to purchase parts of Buckie estate, looking forward to his visit, 21 June, trying to sort out the tenants, Logie has not paid rent on some of his land, no income from Badenshellie but has given part to his brother who hopes to improve it, continued attempts to buy parts of Buckie, distressed by news of his son and by the thought that he might have to help him financially when he can least afford it, low prices for food, news of Gordon’s sister Mrs Duff’s illness, and Duff’s inability to manage his affairs, 26 October 1758
