DescriptionLetter to Alexander Gordon, Letterfourie, from his brother James, London, asking about business with Colquhoun Grant in Edinburgh, despatching goods to Letterfourie, disappointed in a floor cloth which was rolled too soon after it was made, asking for measurements of crimson silk damask for a bed and two window curtains, suggesting they can be made up more cheaply there, asking what seeds are wanted, still hoping for title deeds for Walkerdales, ‘Inclosed goes Rec[eip]t for your long stick with the Bayonet’, bad weather, in postscript says Mrs Riddoch has already sent some of the damask to be sold so he will send more if required, 26 August 1782
