DescriptionLetter to Alexander Gordon, Letterfourie, from his brother James, London, regarding dispute between Alexander and Dr Hay in St Albans, encouraging him to write ‘smoothly and cooly’, and perhaps use their mutual friend Hay of Rannes to help, complaining that he never acknowledges letters or gives directions about his business and keeps original letters so long that James will now only send him copies, he has had a bad fall in the country and his arm is in constant pain, which makes him cross, 26 July 1774
