DescriptionLetter to James Gordon of Letterfourie, London, from Thomas Heberden, explaining that he is in his country house at St Roque, that the glasses arrived safely for Gracia but she was already dead, advising Gordon not to become a farmer but to remain a Madeira merchant as the trade is flourishing, receipt of ‘a fine apparatus of Astronomical instruments’ from London ‘to fix with certainty the longitude and latitude of this place’, compliments to Mr Pringle, Madeira, 27 September 1765
