Administrative History | 'St Clair' [II], built 1937 by Hall Russell & Co. Aberdeen. Government requisitioned and as HMS 'Baldour' took part in the British occupation of Iceland, later served as a rescue ship. In 1945 - 1946 was refitted and converted to oil burning. Renamed 'St Magnus IV' in 1960 and sold for demolition 1967. |

Contains black & white photographs of the new vessels 'St Ninian' and 'St Rognvald'; loose newspaper advertisement relating to summer arrangements for the Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Wick, Thurso, Orkney, & Shetland route (September 1880); and illustrated article for the Illustrated London News, talking about the 'Highlander' [known later as 'St Catherine'] after the vessel's encounter with Nazi seaplanes (August 17 1940). |
