Administrative History | The Feldberg Foundation was established in 1961 by Professor Wilhelm Feldberg (1900 - 1993), CBE, FRS, for the purpose of promoting scientific contact between German and English scientists within the sphere of experimental medical research, in particular in physiology, pharmacology and related topics, primarily by the establishment of scientific exchange lectures.
The Wilhelm Feldberg Prize is awarded by The Foundation in recognition of British-German scientific collaboration. Two awards are made each year to both a German and a British scientist. In accordance with the Foundation's ethos, each responds by gives a lecture in the other's country.
