Correspondence with Professor Fred Harper, Department of Physiology, The Medical School, University of Durham (subsequently, University of Newcastle upon Tyne), regarding the vacant Chair of Physiology in Khartoum University, October 1961, and current research on the 'gastric phase of pancreatic secretion', May 1965. In the earlier correspondence, Harper states that he has recommended Kosterlitz for the vacant chair and passes on details about the post, including reassurance regarding the job security of ex-patriots working in Khartoum, the University's desire to offer a long-term contract, the absence of any prejudices against a Jewish professor, and the University's intention to also appoint a Sudanese professor in the short-medium term. Kosterlitz's draft reply outlines his reasons for deciding not to proceed with the application, these principally relating to his existing work commitments with colleagues, friends and funding bodies.
Correspondence with Dr G.S. Hartley, Fisons Pest Control Limited, Chesterford Park Research Station, Essex, regarding the supply of Mipafox, November 1964 - August 1965. Refers to the difficulties in finding someone to take up commercial preparation of the substance and Hartley's decision to publish a safe method of laboratory preparation.
Correspondence with Dr W.S. Hartroft, Department of Physiology, University of Toronto, regarding Hartroft's plans to visit Kosterlitz in Aberdeen following his attendance at the International Congress of Gerontology in London, May - June 1954. The plans were cancelled owing to Hartroft's transfer to the Chair of Pathology in Washington University. Refers to Kosterlitz's American sabbatical.

Correspondence with Dr Kurt Hellmann, Chemotherapy Unit, Imperial Cancer Research Fund, London, regarding the application of one of Helleman's technicians to study biochemistry in Aberdeen and other general matters, April 1963.
Correspondence with Mr W.A. Hiddleston, veterinary surgeon, Musselburgh, regarding the supply of cats for experiments, June - July 1965. Hiddleston had recently established a colony of Beagles to produce dogs for experimental purposes and at the suggestion of the Medical Research Council was considering setting up a breeding colony of cats. Kosterlitz places an order, estimating a requirement of 160 cats during 1966.

Letter from J. Gordon Hopkins, Sir William Dunn Institute, University of Cambridge, telling Kosterlitz that a room may be found for him in the University, that he admires his work, approves of the work that he has suggested and thinks that it should also appeal to the Beit Advisory Board, 14 May 1936. The letter ends 'I think this will reach you soon enough to be in time for your application for a fellowship'.
