Description | The Scottish Needlework Guild was founded in 1896 and was run in association with Queen Victoria's Jubilee Institute for Nurses. Garments made and collected by local branches, and money collected by them, were 'intended to facilitate the nursing of poor patients in their own homes by trained nurses'. Lady Cathcart served for some time as Vice President in the Aberdeenshire branch of the Guild, and Ranald R. Macdonald's wife and sister also worked for it. The papers consist chiefly of reports. |
