Description | Correspondence received by William Robertson Nicoll and associated papers, together with correspondence relating to Nicoll.
The corespondence consists of personal letters, correspondence from churchmen and others on religious matters, and a very substantial correspondence arising from Nicoll's editorial activities. It includes letters from leading literary and political figures of the time, as well as the original manuscripts of Walter Pater's review of Wilde's "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" and of articles by J.M. Barrie.
The section also includes two memoirs of William Robertson Nicoll by fellow-students.
