While publishing matters are discussed, the letters are largely personal in content and include gossip concerning the personalities of the day. The war years 1914 to 1918 are chronicled in some detail.
A note on the original folder indicates that the letters were read by Nicoll's biographer Thomas Herbert Darlow for his life of Nicoll published in 1925. |
