Administrative History | By the late 1920s the tram routes were being out-competed by the bus services, and the track and rolling stock were in a depleted state. In 1930 the decision was taken to terminate the Ferryhill and Torry services, and after the Second World War the rest of the service was judged non-viable. The Mannofield route closed in 1951, and the Rosemount Circle in 1954; the Woodside and Beach/Hazelhead routes followed. By May 1958 the Bridges route was closed, the whole tram fleet was destroyed, and Aberdeen Corporation Transport was solely a bus operator. |
