Description | Asking that she should help him to get onto the recruiting service as he had been slightly wounded at Maida and was with Lieutenant-Colonel MacLeod when he was killed in Egypt on 21st April 1807. The writer was not anxious to be transferred to the 2nd Battalion of the 78th which he understood was likely to be sent to the West Indies. He adds that his home was in Tain.(Marked 'E10' in red.] |
