No address is given but there is a group of bills incurred by Frederick Mackenzie Fraser in Sherborne, Dorset (Frederick must have been staying with his uncle Frederick from 1849 to 1852), on one of which Hawtrey's name appears.[Frederick had thus apparently left Rugby.] v). Voucher for a payment, 18 August 1850, to the Rev. Thomas Chamberlain of Oxford of £15 vi). Payment by Colonel Charles of £30 to secure a passage to Australia for Alexander Ogg, land surveyor, who surveyed Castle Fraser and Inverallochy estates for drainage and was later sequestered.
[There is no factory account for this year. Colonel Charles appears to have spent from mid-August to mid-June in London. His cheques drawn on Glyn's Bank amount to £1,452.] |
