Description | 'Camp at Quebec'. Relating some of the events on 13th September 1759 which occurred during the assault on the Heights of Abraham after the 'Forlorn Hope', and the wounding of Captain Simon Fraser (the wound later proved fatal). The death of Montcalm and the difficulties of the local inhabitants are also mentioned, as are the casualties sustained by the Regiment. Both author and recipient of the letter are unknown, but Captain Simon Fraser was the son of Charles Fraser of Inverallochy. Dated 24th September 1759 |
