Description | Charter of alienation by John Lowsoune, son and heir of Alexander Lowsoune, burgess of Aberdeen, whereby he grants the half-net fishings of Ly Fuirdis on the Dee to Andrew Scherar, burgess of Aberdeen, and his heirs or assignees provided these are burgesses of Aberdeen and actually resident in the burgh. The fishings are to be held in return for the payment, to the treasurer of the burgh, of a ferme of 33s 6d Scots, payable at two terms of the year in equal portions, and on the conditions that the grantees shall jot be exempt from pleas of the burgh, or from subsidies, stentsand public burdens, that no women are to possess or enjoy the profits of the fishings, that the grantees are not to hold two fishings, or a whole nets fishing, or two tenements of land of the burgh, and that failure to pay the above ferme is to render the grnt void.
