Letter signed by Lord Binning and Sir Gideon Murray to the laird of Leys. Edinburgh 14 May 1617. Need for recipient to comply with former letter in spite of excuses to the contrary; he is to enquire into the number of horses available for carriage within each parish in shire, and appoint one or two constables in each parish to be answerable that the horses be ready for lifting of the carriage at Kynnaird on 29 inst., further directions will be received from the Duke of Lennox, Earl of Mar and others of the Privy Council at Kynnaird.

Letter, illegible initials, to the laird of Leys. 'from my house', 2 September 1610. An unnamed man had written to the Lady of ?Intellgis 'to tempt hir mynd anent mariage and in speciall hir affectione touards the laird of Nesci Homine. Hir answer was (his oculis vidi) to keip hir awin wordis that sco culd not with gud maners hear of mariage for the present tuiching ony man, and wald deall with nain quhill scho had ane provisione for hir dochter'.
