Bond by John Douglass and Alexander Smith, both in Woodend of Crathes, peter Fyffe, maltster at Gilmoston, and Robert Stronach, wright in Aberdeen, to Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, bt., for £284 stg., as price of fir trees and other growing timber in plantation near Houe of Crathes, commonly called the old fir wood, 6th July 1st November 1781.
Bond by Sir Thomas burnett of Leys, bt., to Katherine Ramsay alias Burnett , his spouse, in event of her surviving him, in lieu of her share of the household furniture, for £22 stg., 1 December 1777.
Discharge by Jean Burnett, relict of William Burnet of Crigie, to Thomas Burnet of Crigie, her eldest son, in contempplation of his marriage to Katherine Ramsay, sister of Sir Alexander Ramsay Irvine of Balmain, of her liferent right to the lands of Wester Mathers and Pittanous, Fisherlands and Brewland thereof, in parish of Ecclesgreig, sheriffdom of Kincardine, 5th september 1754.
Letter from A. Bannerman to Betty[-], addressed "my dearest madam". Ellsicke, 20th November 1727. His love for receipient does not depend o lagacies or family interest-"its your person only that I covet and doats upon"; is ill of the scurvy; would never suggest that she marries him without his parents' consent.
Bond by Sir Alexander Burnet of Leys and Robert Burnnet, younger, of Leys, to george Rose, goldsmith in Aberdeen, for £400 stg, 25th June 1753. Endorsed with discharge by Christian Forbes, relict of said george, 23rd December 1754.
Tack by Sir Alexander Burnet of Leyes, bt., toWilliam Henderson, elder, in Invery, and Andrew Skinner, servant to the said Alexander, of customs in two markets of Midlentron and St Ternans, for 15 years, excedpt customs of horses, nolt and sheep for first three years of tack, 12th January 1739.
Account due by lady Leys to george Sangster, wright in Aberdeen, work work wrought about her lodgings there, 1714. Articles include a long box for scouring knives and "to making an imbossed cornice for a bed at Crathes" is £7. 4s; "to severall things about the funerall of your father £7. 8s".
Execution at instance of Thomas Burnet of Leyes against many tenants(names given) to compeir in baron court at Cobleheugh, 26th January 1773.The messenger notes that in some cases he executed the letters by leaving them in the lockholes, as he could not get an axe or apprehend the transgressors personally.
