Unsigned letter to Thomas Burnett of the Leys, apparently from his factor on collection of rents, 1697.

Letter [to Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys] from the Earl of Loudon stating that he has been named as a member of the Court of Exchequer, and requesting him that 'you may qualify yourself as soon as conveniently you can that affairs which lye before that court may have the necessary dispatch for the benefit of all concerned', Whitehall, July 1707, printed, 'Burnett of Leys', 81-2. (In custody of the National Trust).

Declaration by Mr Mitchell concerning a conversation between himself and the Duke of Newcastle the previous December in which he was alleged by the Earl of Home to have spoken in an injurious fashion of the character of Mr Harry Hume, then under consideration for being made a Lord of Session. Mitchell gives the best account he can of the exact words he used to the Duke, indicating that he said nothing injurious to Home. 4 March, no year.
