Letter from Alexander Ramsay to Sir Robert Burnett, his brother in law, Montrose, 26th January 1807.
Intimates forthcoming marraige of writer's daughter to Henry Tailyour of Borrowfield; asks for a drawing of the recipient's arms and suggests that the coachmaker's painter could do a sketch, as he wishes to have them done in stone and placed in a vacant shut up window on one of the side towers of the house; he had already applied to the Lyon office but had been told that Burnett of Leyes did not have supporters; suggests that the record is deficient, possibly when the record office was burnt about 1707; asks that this should be rectified or recipient " might be plagued by the Lyon".

List of commissioned officers belonging to the Forfar and Kincardine regiment of militia and by whom appointed. Montrose, 24th December 1847.
