Papers relating to disputed election of 1832, between Sir Thomas Burnett and General Sir Hugh Arbuthnott: printed addresses to voters, and a letter from Lord Cassillis to tenants on his estates in Kincardineshire "who will receive the election franchise", 19th July 1832, leaving them free to vote if they wish, but suggesting that they support the candidate " who has a very strong bias in favor of the agricultural interest, as in my humble opinion, in the prosperity of that class of the community does the general prosperity of the country mainly depend".
Printed, Roll of the new constituency of Kincardineshire, 1832. Aberdeen 1832. Endoresed "Sir Thomas Burnett's canvassing roll in 1832", the names having letters in pencil after them. Similar rolls for Bourtree Bush, Banchory, Stonehaven, Drumlithie, Fettercairn, and Woodston, marked to show how the electorate voted.
