| Description | The collection holds a significant amount of material for St Peter's Church at Peterhead. There are sacramental registers covering 1738 - 1972, with a register of communicants from 1903 - 1918 and seven registers of services from 1889 - 1970. There are five volumes of minute books for the church alongside separate minute books for the Argo Trust. A small amount of correspondence includes letters from a number of Bishops and a single letter book. Legal papers comprise deeds of settlement and consecration with papers relating to the purchase of property. The series of financial papers that includes ledgers, cash books and accounts covers the period 1731 - 1971. Personal papers that were held at the church include the commonplace book thought to belong to Bishop Robert Kilgour, a set of notes on the history of St Peter's, and a number of manuscript sermons by various authors. A number of external bodies are associated with the church and the archives hold records relating to the St Peter's men's association, St Peter's School and St Peter's Sunday school. Finally there is a small number of architectural plans and drawings of the church. |
