Delord is taking advantage of her; pleasure in playing for the soldiers, who appreciate it; further appreciation of the university classes, which she has enjoyed; Uncle's journey has been disrupted by storms, which have broken the line near Rapallo; he has to go round by Parma and Sarzana but he intends to visit Florence, Padua and Bologna; he cannot stay in these places because they are in the war zone, but the colporteurs will meet him at the station; thanking for letters; weather has turned cold.
