DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, 7 Via Venti Settembre, Rome, to her relatives, regarding Professor van Millingen's sermon, intellectual but not satisfactory; they do not like him; Mrs. van Millingen is Episcopal; they are very different; their sons are in Rome for Easter against everyone's advice; he preached to his family rather than the congregation; the elder boy wants to be a soldier though his father wants him to be an intellectual; Rome is wasted on him; the van Millingens' marriage is full of trouble; men are bullies and though Mrs. van Millingen is aggressive, perhaps her husband makes her so; everyone is a little better after their colds; organ practice in the American church and Mr. Green's improvement as a teacher; he will teach her choir training; death of Charles Carnegie; Mr. Thin of Lauder Road has also died; the funeral was at Bristo and he was buried at the Grange Cemetery; the copy of 'Livingstonia News' has arrived but badly damaged; Mrs. Brock, Muriel Brock, Mrs. Morgan and her two children have left for England; thanks to Aunt Amy for postcard and news.
