DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Paris, to her relatives, containing news from Aunt and Uncle in Rome for circulation, Signorina Introna of the Waldensian Church played the organ in Uncle's church last week as Mr. Gibson had a cold, and was fine, so that Mr. Gibson's return was regretted, difficulties of Mr. and Mrs. Brett, he the new Trinity clergyman, engagement of Frank Polkinghorne to an English girl who has done war work but cannot keep a house, new ambassador is Sir George Buchanan, who is bringing a wife and daughter, Maria the cook is expected back soon after the grape harvest, and Maria II, the maid, is doing well, Philomena, last year's maid, has broken her ankle, Cathie Thin is engaged to someone near Kelso, probably a farmer, the presbytery went well and Uncle's opinion of Mr. Cowan of Genoa has improved, the Davidsons and Miss Jamieson are back in Rome.
