Description | 'A Pair of Silk Stockings, etc.', Grand Fleet, August 1917: signed manuscript copy of poem, with letter from Venn's Ltd., stating 'you will gather that we were pleased with your verse - and I thought publishing it, the best way of getting into touch with you ! How do you wish, this matter to be treated, shall we send you along some "Undies" or a cheque ? Or shall we place the amount to your credit ? I hope that you will be agreeable to the idea of two guineas for your "inspiration", and I shall be glad to consider anything else at any time", 7 August 1917.
