| Description | In the course of her work at Avery Hill Teacher Training College, Dr Aberdein invited distinguished literary figures to address her students. This small collection of correspondence, covering the period 1926 - 1957, represents some of the replies. There are seventeen correspondents in all, including John Masefield, John Gielgud, and Douglas Hyde, newly made First President of Eire. There is also one letter of unknown provenance, from John Galt [Senior], to David Taylor, Attorney, regarding the Cause of the Providence Whirrie and Cargo, 6 Jan 1776. |
