| Description | Letter from a young woman in Orkney seeking advice from Mary Esslemont on contraception, 28 August 1952: 'I am very pleased to know you are so glad to help me. You say you will not be able to fit me with a Dutch Cap by only seeing me, do you mean you will have to see me often or will I have to be married before you can do so...' Concludes that she would be happy to see Mary Esslemont's former asisstant, who was now practising as a doctor in Westray. |
