Description | Two booklets containing knitting instructions issued by the North East branch of the Scottish War Comforts Co-ordination Scheme, c 1940 and c 1942. In addition to knitting instructions, the booklets also contain details regarding the establishment, organisation and achievements of the Scheme, whose principal authorised centre (in the North East of Scotland) was the Co-ordinated Comforts Depot, 37 Albyn Place, Aberdeen. At date of publication of the second booklet, 462,594 woolen items had been issued from this region alone.
Knitting instructions (printed and typescript) and advertisement for donations, issued by the Scottish Comforts Fund for Soviet Russia, c 1940s. The advertisement states that £2000 worth of wool had been allocated by the British government to the scheme, which would be distributed coupon-free to accredited knitting parties on personal application to the Fund Depot at 26 Frederick Street, Edinburgh.
