Administrative History | The National Council of Women of Great Britain was founded in 1895 by a small group of women with a profound social conscience. Its core mission was to work for an improvement in the quality of life, in particular, to secure equal rights to women in the work-place and at home. Today, it provides a forum where women, as individuals or as members or affiliates of NCWGB, can exchange information and ideas, formulate policy, educate and promote change.
The Council is affiliated to the International Council of Women, which has consultative status (Category 1) with the United Nations. |
