Administrative History | The International Federation of University Women was founded in 1919 by women graduates from Canada, Great Britain and the United States to promote international friendship, cooperation and peace. Today, the organisation has over 150,000 members - women university graduates - from seventy-eight national federations and associations throughout the world.
Its mission is to advocate for the improvement of the status of women and girls; to promote lifelong education; and to enable graduate women to use their expertise to effect change. Elected members serve as representatives to the United Nations and other specialised agencies.
