| Description | Bound collection of papers including the muster roll of the First (Fetteresso) Company of Rifle Volunteers commanded by Thomas Fraser Duff 1861, together with official (printed) correspondence from the War Office and returns from the Commanding Officer and from James Black, Lieutenant-Commander.
A letter enclosed with the volume explain that records of the Fetteresso Volunteers had been in the family of Mrs Marjory Glegg or Winton, Laurencekirk, for some time before Mrs Winton wrote to the then Lord Stonehaven in 1962 offering to hand over the records to him. A second letter from Mrs Winton in 1968 confirms the transfer of the material. |
