DescriptionJournals and commonplace books of Lady Hilda Madeleine Keith Falconer (1875 - 1967), daughter of the 9th Earl of Kintore.

The journals relate in some detail journeys by liner and tourist trips undertaken in most cases with her mother and sister, and several include passenger lists, press cuttings and other memorabilia.

8. Journal of trip to Germany, with enclosures, June - 9 August 1914. Includes reactions to the mobilisation leading up to the declaration of war on 4 August, and arrangements to leave Germany.

Commonplace books:
Five octavo notebooks, dated 1898, 1901, 1909-1910, and 1925 (two notebooks, one in English and one in French), containing poetry and prose excerpts. Together with one undated notebook containing a range of excerpts, with original documents dated 1939 to 1947.
