DescriptionThis sub-series comprises 17 travel journals created by Lady Sydney Charlotte Keith-Falconer, Countess of Kintore, to document her trips abroad. Lady Sydney was often accompanied by her daughters Lady Ethel Sydney Keith-Falconer, (later Baird) and known as ‘Ettie’ and Lady Hilda Madeline Keith-Falconer. The trips encompassed travel to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, North America, South America, the West Indies, Mexico, South Africa, Italy, Egypt, Norway and Germany across a period of approximately 22 years. The journals contain handwritten accounts of the journeys and the destinations, insterspersed with clippings and photographs.
