The album contains press cuttings relating to current events in South Australia and to Lord Kintore's activities and his departure; with letters, photographs, cartoons and ephemera.
The letters include:
Letter of 20 March 1894 from Lord Kimberley at the Foreign Office, enclosing "a passport which (with all your titles &c in it) will be of use to you" and offering to telegraph the British Ambassador in Washington to get all possible facilities for Lord Kintore.
Letter of 27 December 1894 from Charles Tucker, Mayor of Adelaide, expressing the City Council's appreciation of Lord Kintore's "very valuable services" as Governor and of Lady Kintore's charitable activities; with copy reply by Lord Kintore of the same date
Letter of 3 January 1895 from John Harvey Finlayson, editor of the South Australian Register, sending best wishes for the new year and thanking Lord and Lady Kintore for what they have done in South Australia
Letter of 22 January 1895 from George Matson (Australian poet, 1845 - 1915) to the Countess of Kintore, with his poem of farewell to the Earl of Kintore
