Includes letter of 5 March 1779 on the proposed Don bridge at Inverurie: "The Bridge has been the hobby horse of the Burgh for the last thirty years to my knowledge, and on every Election the councill of Inverury have uniformly insisted upon their Member comeing under a promise of getting a bridge built for them there, which has been as often promised, but never thought of more..."
