| Description | Copy of document entitled: 'Report on the Operations between Cambrai and Valenciennes by the 51st (Highland) Division. Oct. 11/12th to Oct. 28/29th 1918.' This also includes seven maps referred to in the index of the report, together with three additional maps relating to the operations carried out in this area. The report consists of 30 pages and covers in detail the series of battles which took place during this period and the advances made by the 51st (Highland) Division in the area between Cambrai and Valenciennes. The operations are described in three phases and the Divisional Artillery Report, the work of the Divisional Engineers and Pioneers, the difficulties experienced by the R.A.M.C., the care of the liberated civilians, and the list of casualties are provided in the appendices. Also enclosed is a copy of the report 'on the soup-kitchen work carried out by the 51st (Highland) Division in the villages of Douchy, Famars, Maing, Haulchin, Neuville sur L'Escaut, Bouchain, Estrun, Paillencourt, Thun St. Martin, Thun L'Eveque, Hordain and Iwuy', dated 30 November 1918, and a brief account of the medical work carried out in these villages from the 11 - 29 October, dated 26 November 1918. According to a memorandum attached to the report this was requested by Captain St. Andre at an interview between himself and Colonel David Rorie at Mons on 30 November 1918.
