He treated Thomas Fraser and his serving girl, whom he 'ravished', for a venereal complaint and ulcers with phimosis. He later notes that both of them were better and that the serving maid's father had removed her from Service. In March, he remarks that the maid wants to return to her service and remarks 'how inconsistent'
He read 'Addresses to young men' by James Fordyce D.D. (2 volumes, 1777) which he describes as 'good'
